Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide, often known as laughing gas, is available to all our patients for any appointment type. Your comfort is our priority. Nitrous oxide is a gas that is inhaled through a nose piece while your recieving dental care. The gas causes a light sedation in which anxiety is generally lessened. The gas does not cause one to loose consciousness or memory. It is an extremely save manner in which to relax oneself during dental treatment. It can be used for all ages and is extremely effective in children. In addition to relaxation, the gas may cause tingling in the hands and feet. The gas can be titrated to accomodate your needs. Once the appointment is over, the gas is switched to 100% oxygen and the nitrous oxide is flushed out of your system in approximately 5 minutes. An escort is not necessary, you are allowed to drive yourself home and there is no post-operative restrictions.
